Our story
When we say that we serve feelgood food, we really do. Not only is any income we generate reinvested into the work of My Life, but many of the fresh ingredients that end up on your plate are grown by the charity’s members on our 84-acre countryside site, or locally sourced within a 20-mile radius.
Activities like growing and horticulture help increase confidence, develop relationships and contribute to members’ overall wellbeing.
The Catering and Hospitality Pathway, of which Stable Door Cafe is part, is dedicated to progressing members from simple cooking sessions to catering for members of the public, overseen by skilled professionals and developing life and work experience.
So, next time you fancy a deliciously crisp bacon butty, a warm sticky toffee pudding with custard, or a real dairy ice cream cone, you’ll know you really are experiencing feelgood food.
Come down, we’d love to meet you.
Lyndsey Heaton, Head Chef
My Life and Stable Door changed Liam’s life completely. They are not the same person that started here – they are more confident, they’ll look people in the eye.
The last six months in particular they have completely blossomed and we can begin to think about how they might live and work independently in the future.”
