As our trusty Senior Support Worker, you’ll be the chameleon of care, adapting to different environments and supporting individuals with diverse needs, from complex health issues to mental health conditions, autism spectrum disorder, and spirited behaviours that keep us on our toes.

- Driving our members in their own vehicles so they can access a range of meaningful activities.

About the role
This is an exciting role – part hands-on, part management – where you’ll support adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex care needs and mental health challenges in a community setting. You’ll play a key role in shaping services that are person-centred, empowering and full of heart.
Key Responsibilities:

- Working on support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex health needs, and mental health conditions
- Supervising, mentoring and motivating a team of Support Workers
- Leading service delivery to ensure high standards of care and regulatory compliance
- Supporting with rota planning, staff development, care planning, reviews, and risk assessments
- Participating in the on-call rota as part of the management team
- Contributing to the growth and development of our services in your local area
- Building strong relationships with families, professionals, and the wider community
Who we’re looking for
My Life is seeking a caring, reliable and confident leader who share our values and bring experience, heart and resilience to their work.
Essential Criteria:
- A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) – and willingness to work towards Level 5 if not already held
- Direct experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and/or mental health challenges
- Previous experience in a leadership role, such as Team Leader, Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager
- Strong understanding of community-based support
- Ability to lead and manage a team, handle complex situations and drive positive outcomes
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A flexible and hands-on approach – this is role is split between our Standish site and your community location
- Ability to participate in the on-call rota
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 4 or 5 (or equivalent leadership and management qualification)

Your responsibilities
This role will be as a Support Worker / Personal Assistant for a young lady with a beautiful smile and a love of animals. She loves horses and going out into nature. She is a wheelchair user, she has epilepsy and she communicates with verbal gestures and facial expressions. She lives in her own home supported by an established team who currently provide care for her on a 2:1 basis during the day and 1:1 during the night. As an integral part of this friendly team, you will work through the night to ensure that personal care is provided in a respectful manner, that this lady’s support requirements are delivered in accordance with her healthcare plan and that her health, independence and wellbeing are prioritised.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Support Worker / Personal Assistant with a positive and proactive approach to care. You will be a self-motivated, team player who has the ability to use initiative whilst being sensitive to the needs of others. You will also hold a full driving licence.
