Due to popular demand, we are running two further FREE Pathways to Employment courses. Each 5-day course runs over five successive Saturdays.
Dates for the first course are: 21 and 28 January, and 4, 11 and 18 February at Thompson House Equestrian Centre, off Pepper Lane, Standish, Wigan, WN6 0PP.
Dates for the second course are: 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 March at Golborne Parkside Sports and Social Club, Rivington Avenue, Golborne, WA3 3HG.
Both courses are aimed at people who:
No experience is necessary, and you don’t need to be able to drive. All we ask is that you have a passion for helping others to have a good life and can commit to attend all 5-days of the course.
We are running information sessions to help you to find out more. At the sessions, we’ll tell you more about the course, its success rate, and how to apply. Dates for the information sessions are:
January/February course
Saturday, 7 January from 10-11am, or Tuesday 10 January from 6.30-7.30pm at Thompson House Equestrian Centre, off Pepper Lane, Standish, Wigan, WN6 0PP.
March course
Wednesday, 8 February from 10-11.30am, or Friday, 10 February from 7-8.30pm at Golborne Parkside Sports and Social Club, Rivington Avenue, Golborne, WA3 3HG.
So if you’re interested, please phone our Standish site to book on an information session. Phone 01257 472900 or email info@my-life.org.uk
Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative in hundreds of regions across England and Wales. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.
Bags of help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s 416 regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags.
My Life would like to use the cash to develop the sensory garden and holistic therapy centre at our Standish site, providing free Reiki and treatments that help to restore physical and emotional wellbeing.
From 31 October to 13 November 2016, shoppers will be able to vote for who they think should take away the top award, using a token given to them at the checkout. Please support My Life by voting and by promoting mylifecharity on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook! #votemylifecharity #BagsofHelp
It’s fantastic news for My Life – we are now a registered charity. This means that we will still be able to provide a range of great opportunities for our members, but we will be able to raise more money for our activities from funding bodies, the government and public!
Watch this space as we develop our website and member offer.
We’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to Eileen and Tony who have produced this wonderful slideshow of photos from our recent Royal Street Party.
It really was a brilliant event!
